Copperface

Bio

The band are: Rich Guy– Vocals Chris Kitson – Guitars Duncan Shores – Piano & Organ James Alterman – Bass Dan Greatorex – Drums Copperface came into being during 1998 when Chris and James (who were college friends at the time) began looking for a vocalist with whom to write and perform at local events. Whilst at a part-time job, James heard Rich singing and, impressed, suggested that they work together. During 1998 and 1999, the three friends built up a large selection of songs and performed acoustically in many UK venues. In 2000, Dan was recruited to build a fuller sound into the live set and, during 2001, Duncan was invited to guest in a short recording session; becoming a permanent band member shortly thereafter. The complete group (then known as The Motel Six) gigged heavily for 6 months to an enthusiastic response and the notice of local press and radio. Such was their conviction in the worth of their music, the five members formed their own record label (Alber Cove Records) in the summer of 2002 and subsequently spent 18 months in the studio as and when time allowed.
