Neil, Pete and Ed played together in the Noise Cartel 1997-2000. After a couple of years of other projects it became clear that there was some rock missing in their lives and so got back together to form the Escapologists in 2003 with new boy drummer Jorge.

In 2004 they recorded the Starlight EP. Shortly after this, Edward left with his piano. At the end of 2004 the remaining trio set about writing and recording an album at their studio in Nottingham. A year on, the album is now finished and awaits release.
