Kula Shaker

Bio

Kula Shaker are an English multi-platinum selling psychedelic rock band who came to prominence during the Britpop era. The band became known for their interest in Indian culture, and numerous tracks such as "Tattva" and "Govinda" were written in Sanskrit and featured traditional Indian instruments such as the sitar and the tamboura inter-fused with rock guitar, influenced by frontman Crispian Mills after his visit to India. After releasing two albums they split in September 1999 but officially reformed in 2004 for sessions which led to plans for a full live and album-release comeback. Their reformation was not widely publicised until the beginning of 2006. Their third album, Strangefolk, was released in 2007.
