Love Ends Disaster!

Bio

Love Ends Disaster! formed slowly but surely in early 2003 after brothers Jon and Matt Dix put sibling rivalry to one side and found singer Oakes editing a student magazine, growing his hair long and banging on about Tom Waits. Drummer Pete Jones came with a health warning and guitarist Rob Sadler arrived with his finger skills. They began practicing and wrote 'John Majors Megadrive' and live favourite 'TV' as thier first L.E.D! tracks.

They were quickly signed off the back of thier first 4-track demo to Denial Records who recently released thier debut E.P. 'Stories For The Dislocated' in May 2005. It quickly recieved huge praise from Rough Trade, Drowned In Sound, Planet Sound, Unpeeled Magazine and underground fanzines everywhere. The much acclaimed 'Ginko Disco' has been placed on compilations in both the UK and Japan, recieved airplay from XFM and 6Music and has been remixed by one time Kasabian remixer at Electric Cafe.

"The debut 5-track CD E.P. from Love Ends Disaster! has the same listening sensation we got when we heard the first Bloc Party 7". It's 5 sharp 3 minute bursts of post punk that recall the jangling guitars of the Postcard-era / The Wedding Present, the vocals of Pete Murphy from Bauhaus, the melodies of the Psychedelic Furs and in track 5 they have the new 'Killing an Arab' for this generation. Within the year this band will be massive. We've not been wrong before." - Rough Trade

From hearing only the 5 songs released on the E.P. the press have so far referenced over 35 different bands to describe Love Ends Disaster! Some iinclude: Talking Heads, Squeeze and British Sea Power to Muse, Sonic Youth and Dinosaur JNR. The wonderful aspect of the band is that no-one knows whats about to happen next. Each song different from the last and each minute different from the one before, yet keeping the hooks and melody intact to produce memorable pop-rock songs. They are heading back into the studio to release a second E.P. with Denial Records this summer. It won't sound like the first.
