François Barriet met Nicolas Levasseur in1999 and they formed Porcelain shortly after. After a first demo, they were joined by Yvan Le Guennec and Jérémie Prod'homme ( drums ). Their first album 'I've got a really important thing to do right now but I can't do it cause I'm asleep released in 2003 helped them getting gigs with bands like Tahiti 80 or Arab Strap and gaining a slot at french festival Le Printemps de Bourges.

During 2004, they changed their drummer and recorded their second album 'me and my famous lover which, released next year, gained them comparisons from Joy Division to Arab Strap.
