Sunnyvale Noise Sub-Element

Bio

  • post-industrial-sludge'n'bass-spacetronica
  • existential garage punk
  • electronic guitar confusion inspired by mille plateaux, thrill jockey, amphetamine reptile and shortwave radio

the sunnyvale noise sub-element was formed in the summer of 2000 as an experiment in noise. working as a duo at that stage, the band's early compositions were improvisational slabs of noise, edited versions of which would randomly appear as demos. recent months have seen sunnyvale develop their earlier improvisational approach in favour of a live set of guitar-driven electronic instrumentals, inspired in equal measure by mille plateaux, thrill jockey, amphetamine reptile and shortwave radio.

increasing in size at a rate of one member per year, sunnyvale are hoping to end their career as part of a 38-armed glenn branca. gigs across the uk have been backed up by a recording session in the oxfordshire countryside, the fruits of which will be seen in the band’s forthcoming album exploitablackappelladelica, out soon on quadruple 5" vinyl, to back up their debut, released as a limited edition idea in 2001.
