DiS @ TMF: Line Up Confirmed!
rubbafish by Colin Weston August 2nd, 2004
After many hours, e-mails and general frantic pacing we have got our full line up for the Acoustic tent at this year's TMF Festival in Thurrock (Aug 7th) all done and in the bag!

As well as the talented local and international acts selected by the festival organisers such as beat poets Breis and Jared Louche (who has worked with Eighties Matchbox), we have added a bit of DiS flair and bought in some of the bands we love from the past, present and future with one or two suprises.

From London we have called in Emma McGlynn whos urban-folk-rock sounds like the best bits Ani DiFranco given a British edge and whose stunning debut album 'Kamikaze Birdie' made a real impression.

Travelling down from Glasgow we have Clearfall who are causing a bit of a stir north of the border. With numerous profile support slots already secured and labels circling like vultures, this will be one of the band's first gigs south of Hadrians Wall where they hope to infect everyone with their Snow Patrol-esque indie strummings.

Fresh from their killer albeit short set at Truck. Oxford's finest Dive Dive are going to play a special acoustic set just for us perhaps previewing a few tracks from their forthcoming album which is due out in October.

In a real departure from their usual set-up we have managed to convince Stratford boys Antihero that they want to play and provide us with an unplugged session - something that is virtually unheard of for the band, so this could be something very special indeed!

Going old school we are bringing back a blast from the past with Miss Black America singer Seymour Glass coming down with his acousitc side project The Charm Offensive which involves member of The Dawn Parade. Apparently going down well in the Cambridge area, this could potentially be a highlight of the whole festival!

Wrapping it all up we have a special acoustic set from Jetplane Landing. Although they are playing a full set on one of the main stages as well, we have managed to convice our favourite anglo-Irish rockers to come and lay down a few heart-felt tracks just for you before blowing you all away!

Apart from our small acoustic shindig there are some great DiS-approved bands playing such as Smother, Reuben, Million Dead, My Red Cell, Winnebago Deal, Amplifier, Engerica and Empathy with Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster rounding things off at the end of the night.

With over 70 bands playing in just one day it is a real festival to be at and costing just £8 you would be mad to miss it, simple as! For full info, line-ups, buying tickets and more go to the TMF Official Site and we hope to see you there!
