Big Scary Swedes? Unlikely... new compilation coming
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver September 1st, 2006

Acclaimed Oxford indie label Big Scary Monsters - recent releases include albums by the excellent secondsmile and Itch - are to release a compilation of Swedish music in October, entitled Svenskt.

The album pulls together a number of artists from Western Europe's third-largest country (and that's a fact). Among those on board are DiS's own Jeniferever (pictured), Logh (who've released through Hydra Head in the US) and the lush Last Days Of April. Full tracklisting as follows...

1 Molia Falls 'Godalming'
2 The Sound OE 'Flatliners'
3 Audrey 'Views'
4 KVLR 'Birthcam'
5 Convoj 'My Timekeeping Heart'
6 Suburban Kids With Biblical Names 'Marry Me'
7 The Grand Opening 'Summon'
8 Ellis The Vacuumchild 'When The Going Gets Weird, The Weird Turn Pro'
9 Alarma Man 'Natures Keep Losing It'
10 Jeniferever 'Swimming Eyes'
11 Logh 'Destinymanifesto'
12 David And The Citizens 'Are You In My Blood?'
13 Traktor 'Vultures'
14 The Domus 'Two Thirds'
15 Moonbabies 'War On Sound'
16 Ef 'Misinform The Uninformed'
17 Aerial 'Time Is On Fire'
18 Last Days of April 'Live The End'

A song about some Surrey shithole? Awesome. Svenskt is released on October 16. A MySpace site dedicated to the album can be found here.
