Rebus offer some 'Silence', sans expense...
benmarwood by ben marwood October 4th, 2006

Scarf-bearing indie kids Rebus (not pictured, right) are inviting you to download their new single, ‘Silence’, for free. Yes, gratis, and all it will cost you is an email address on their mailing list.

Available here, ‘Silence’ is a slice of rather loud indie-rock. But if you don’t like the idea of that, the Berkshire quartet have made the main bulk of the individual tracks available for download on the same site and invite you to tear it up, just in case you want to knock up some kind of drum-and-bass remix. The winner will get put on their MySpace or something, or if it’s really good, there’s a whisper it’ll end up as a b-side on their next single.

There’s apparently no limit on how many remixes you can enter, so I’m off to make twelve. You, dear reader, can catch the guys themselves on tour as follows:

October
6 Wimbledon The Watershed
12 Bristol Fiddlers (Oxjam Event)
18 Winchester Railway Inn (Oxjam Event)
20 Portsmouth The Frog On The Front/Pyramids Centre
27 Newcastle Northumbria University
28 Sheffield DnR (Oxjam Event)
29 Nottingham The Social (Oxjam Event)

November
1 Reading The Fez Club
4 Salisbury Dirty Boots Club
14 London Montague Arms
