Hanne Hukkelberg plays one-off UK date
disnews by DiS News June 13th, 2005
Hanne Hukkelberg, who got DiS in a spin with her debut UK album Little Things (check the review on the right ->), has announced a one-off show in London this summer.

Norway-born Hanne plays the Queen Elizabeth Hall on Monay July 11th, alongside Nouvelle Vague. She will be backed by a six-piece band, although don't expect a wholly traditional experience - Hanne has been known to use glass bottles and bicycle spokes as on stage instruments.

As an aside, anyone wanting to get a copy of Little Things should note that its release date in the UK has moved to June 27th.

Tickets for the QEH show are priced at £18.50 and are available from 0870 401 8181 or by visiting the venue's website.

Don't take our word for it:

“...crafts an idiosyncratic brew from bottles, piano, fiddle, modern production suss and more... the perfect accompaniment for Hukkelberg’s soothing and emotive voice… quite touching” 4/5 DJ Magazine

“...an elegant charm that is very much its own... so compelling” The Wire
