Glasgow-based and Mogwai-connected record label Rock Action has announced that it's to start a singles club.
The first release - each release is to be a seven-inch - is by Glasgow natives Desalvo (pictured). Inspired partially by Sub Pop, Rock Action is to make each single available via its online store; or, in their words:
"The label will release a series of limited-as-you-like one-off 7” singles from bands they feel people should want to hear, purely for their listening pleasure, no “shifting units”, no bandwagon jumping, no subscriptions or anything, it’s purely first come first served, and it’s the good stuff so you’d better be quick."
Desalvo feature members of Idlewild, Stretcheads and Fenn, and are described by the label as "a bewilderingly ferocious and uncompromising proposition". That, we like the sound of.
