Sir Elton broke Blue, claims singer
disnews by DiS News August 15th, 2005
Ex-Blue boy turned would-be solo artist Simon Webbe has said that the boyband's demise was sparked by comments made by none other than Sir Elton of John.

The sparkly-specced fan of blue eyes and yellow bricks collaborated with the Guilty quartet on the song 'Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word'. Webbe (pictured), now looking to follow former bandmate and serial foot-in-mouther Lee Ryan into the charts, had this to say about Elton:

"We decided to [break up] because Sir Elton told us: 'You have a certain amount of longevity in the business. If you keep releasing pop albums as Blue you'll go stale.'

"His comments made sense. He's a legend with almost 40 years in the business. I realised it would be best to take time out."

Time out, yes. Enough time? Perhaps not. See you on the pop scrapheap, Webbe.
