Outside The Box: Bank holiday all-dayer in the East Midlands
domgourlay by Dom Gourlay July 27th, 2007

Despite protestations to the contrary from the east side of the A52, Derbyshire is actually quite pleasant in some parts. One of those, perhaps surprisingly for those with local knowledge, is the tiny town of Ripley, situated in the Amber Valley near Matlock. And on August Bank Holiday Sunday (that's the 26th), the beer garden of the Crib will play host to an all day event starting at noon and continuing until 4am the following morning.

Called simply OUTSIDE THE BOX, because it's...well, an outdoor extension of the monthly club night Out The Box run by local punk popsters Dirty Tux. Tickets are £3 but message Tux on their MySpace and you will get discounted entry tickets. Hurrah!

The running order so far is as followed, with more bands and DJs to be confirmed as we speak:

12pm - 1pm DiS DJs
1pm - 1:45pm TBC
2pm - 2:45pm The Beehive Project
3pm - 3:45pm Sub-Rosa
4pm - 4:45pm Mint Ive (pictured)
5pm - 5:45pm Dirty Tux
6pm - 6:45pm Censored
7pm - 7:45pm Ejectorseat
8pm - 845pm Deluka

We (that's me and Jordan Dowling) will also be DJing inbetween bands until 9pm, when the electro/house sounds of DJ Bruno and DJ Luke Black (Lost Weekend, Love Zoo, Jumpbasta) take over til shutdown.
