"Sick": Lily Allen responds to Mail on Sunday cuss
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly February 12th, 2008

Lily Allen has shot a glib ‘whatever’ the way of the Mail on Sunday after the paper published articles slagging her new TV show.

“Audience walks out in 'sick' Lily Allen BBC chat show debut” sneered the headline, going on to claim that more than a third of the studio audience walked out, exit polls featuring words like “horrible” and “limp”.

Guest Cuba Gooding Jnr was even quoted as calling the show “sick” when footage of animals having sex was shown on screens in the studio, and David Mitchell was bemused, no doubt, to find himself in the paper willing her “not to criticise the very people who would be watching the show" when Allen launched into a tirade against message board scum.

Scum?

Anyway, Lily reckons the Mail on Sunday’s talkin’ all trash n’ that:

“My TV show recording went really well on Friday,” begins the MySpace ‘blog post. “I was shitting it but I'm really happy with the results, our guests Cuba Gooding Junior and David Mitchell were fabulous and the audience were great too, standing in a hot studio for two hours watching [me] fluff my lines is not my idea of fun, but they seemed to enjoy it.

“Thank you to the ever supportive Mail on Sunday for their glittering and rave review of the recording, they insinuated a third of the audience left because they were bored of the content of the show , when in fact, due to it being the FIRST show we've done we ran over a little and naturally a small number of the audience had to catch the last trains back to wherever they came from.

“I can't imagine the "undercover journalist" who broke into the studio ever had the intention of being positive about it though, obviously.”

Told? I suppose we’ll find out at 10.30pm tonight (12 Feb), when the first episode of Lily Allen and Friends airs on BBC3. If you’re into that sort of thing.

DiScuss: are you into that sort of thing? Will it be good, or will it be swag? Will David Mitchell be afflicted with an inconvenient erection? Or is that just a character he plays?
