Antiproduct - Bassist Wanted!
rubbafish by Colin Weston February 13th, 2002

Antiproduct, the band of ex-Enuff'Z'Nuff member & other half of Ginger's side project Clam Abuse, the unpredictable Alex Kane, are now down a bassist following the departure of Toshi. The following transcript was placed on the bands own site and explains the reasons behind the move and bands immediate future :-

"Here's the news. Toshi is no longer a member of AntiProduct. We'll be recording the remainder of "In A Place Called Rock 'n' Roll" with a different bass player as well going to New York for gigging and recording, and doing the UK tour in May/June.

We've played with about 20 bassists so far over the last two weeks since "the divorce" (which is totally amicable). As with Shuff before him, we wish Toshi all the best and thank him for his contributions to AntiProduct and rock 'n' roll in the UK in general.

Now, here's the thing, while we like a few of the bass players we're looking at (and we're talking South Africaners, Japanese, Americans, Swedes, Scots, everyone wants to get in AntiProduct) we're not sure we have Mr/Ms Right yet. So, when we got Shuff, we only looked at one bass player and when we got Toshi, we only looked at one bass player again, now we're gonna shop around. If you, or someone you know, can keep up and keep the band glued together like AntiProduct's bass player needs to, we want to hear about it. Ideally, you'd love Motorhead and Abba equally (Voivod and Aqua?), be about 6 ft 3 with long black hair, piercings and tattoos and you wouldn't give a shit what anyone thought about you ever. If you're Japanese, all the better but it's not essential. Maybe you can fake that."

Anybody who feels they can fill this role should drop him a line here.
