Dawn Parade Lose Guitarist
_kp_ by Kate Price February 20th, 2002
The Dawn Parade guitarist and founder member, Rob Marenzé, has decided to leave the band and move on.

The band are down to four after a mutual agreement last Wednesday, that the line-up "wasnt working anymore". The rest of the group are not seeking a replacement and are set to continue as a quartet with vocalist, Greg Mcdonald, taking over guitar parts.

In a mail-out from the band, Rob states - "I am no longer a part of the Parade, but I'm more myself than ever. Having left I can't help but feel that I haven't lost a band but got some very dear friends back. I have had a brilliant year and am at the end of a very steep learning curve with a lot of very fond memories."

As they get to grips with losing a member and now "feeling stronger as a four-piece", The Dawn Parade have also confirmed some spring live dates to follow the Miss Black America tour (details here) and can be caught headlining at the following venues:

March

SUNDAY 3RD - (Greg, solo, acoustic) THE GRAPES
SATURDAY 16TH - NEWBURY CENTRE, BURY ST EDMUNDS (With Abberation and Antihero tbc)
FRIDAY 22ND - PETERBOROUGH, METROPOLITAN LOUNGE, 8PM
SATURDAY 23RD - DIGBY’S BAR, IPSWICH tbc
MONDAY 25TH - BARFLY @ CAMDEN MONARCH, LONDON, 8PM
WEDNESDAY 27TH - CAMBRIDGE BAND COMPETITION, THE JUNCTION, CAMBRIDGE, 8PM

May

THURSDAY 2ND - (Greg, solo) MILESTONE BEERHOUSE, IPSWICH, 9-30PM
FRIDAY 10TH - NORWICH FERRYBOAT + SAMURAI SEVEN, 8PM

And that's not all! Watch out for The Dawn Parade's second single (now likely to be "Hot June Night") will be out in June, along with a full UK Tour throughout July. Keep your eyes peeled for more info!
