Bright Eyes man Conor Oberst will release his first solo album for 13 years in August.
The self-titled longplayer won’t arrive through Oberst’s usual stable over at Saddle Creek, but rather Merge Records who count Arcade Fire, Lambchop, Spoon and, more importantly perhaps, Oberst’s compadre M. Ward among those acts on their roster.
Conor Oberst will be released on August 4th in the US – here’s what’s on it:
‘Cape Cañaveral’
‘Sausalito’
‘Get-Well-Cards’
‘Lenders in the Temple’
‘Danny Callahan’
‘I Don't Want to Die (in the Hospital)’
‘Eagle on a Pole’
‘Moab’
‘NYC - Gone, Gone’
‘Valle Místico (Ruben's Song)’
‘Souled Out!!!’
‘Milk Thistle’
The record was made in Mexico with Oberst’s latest backing troupe the Mystic Valley Band and producer Andy LeMaster. Oberst and his band will be at Reading and Leeds this year, as well as at Electric Picnic in Dublin.
