A Week in Drowned in Sound: 25/04/08
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly April 25th, 2008

This mailout's already lapsing quite significantly due to DrownedinSound's desire to attend the Mystery Jets show at London Scala last night, so let's not doss around in the fire escape and get straight to the burning shall we?

Speaking of west London's reinvented '80s new pop tyros, their new promo for 'Two Doors Down' is easily our video of the week, while Glasgow's We are the Physics take the honour in the singles category. The fact that the band lined-up on the DrownedinSound stage at the Camden Crawl two nights prior to that award was in no way significant we can assure you - you can find our swell photographs of the event here.

We've nothing worth hassling you with now in terms of live activity this coming week, though DiS will once again be heavily involved with a number of fine festivals this summer. The Great Escape in Brighton and Barcelona's Primavera Sound are most pressing, taking place next month, while Truck, Green Man, Field Day and Supersonic all roll out across the horizon of this summer, DrownedinSound flags fluttering against the sunset, we'll sponsor the sky soon, I swear it to you.

Field Day tickets are best bought from TicketWeb or in person at Rough Trade East in London's Brick Lane and there are still some to flog for our Vice-associated YACHT show at the Old Blue Last on the 16th of July - they're here.
