A Week in Drowned in Sound: 09/05/08
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly May 9th, 2008

Get gear, gear up! Festival season starts tomorrow in Camber Sands as ATP take on Pitchfork.com and any number of brilliant bands come scrambling out from under their huge, stomping feet. Vampire Weekend, Sebadoh, Glass Candy, Redd Kross, F*ck Buttons, Harmonia, Times New Viking, Deerhunter, Jens Lekman, No Age, more, more, more… all scheduled here, if you’re joining us on the coast tomorrow.

Beyond that, another trip to southern lines looms with the quite excellent Great Escape next weekend – DrownedinSound can confidently draw air, beat its chest and holler that it has the best stage of the weekend. Because it does – see for yourself, and then scurry off and enter this competition to win a pair of tickets.

We’re involved in a handful of other events leaving untold pleasure, horror and noise eternally etched on yr skulls this summer – like we said a fortnight ago, the Great Escape in Brighton and Barcelona's Primavera Sound are most pressing, while Truck, Green Man, Field Day and Supersonic all roll out across the horizon of this summer, DrownedinSound flags fluttering against the sunset, we'll sponsor the sky soon, I swear it to you.
