A Week in Drowned in Sound: 16/05/08
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly May 16th, 2008

Your mailout this week is mostly still dreaming about the events of last weekend at Camber Sands. Pitchfork vs. ATP threw up legion highlights - great sets from the likes of Deerhunter and Times New Viking adding to a general sense of raucous goodwill that's unsurpassed in this writer's festival experience and has already taken on that nostalgic glow usually reserved for memories buried deep in the addled mind. Our coverage of the weekend is up on the site now, we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed the event itself.

Getting our heads back into gear, this weekend sees us off to Brighton for the Great Escape. Our stage is awesome, if we don't say so ourselves. See for yourselves below:

Thursday May 15
The Futureheads @ 9.45
Fanfarlo @ 8.45
Broken Records @ 7.45
Eugene McGuinness @ 6.45

Friday May 16
Crystal Castles @ 9.45
Cadence Weapon @ 8.45
George Pringle @ 7.45
Lovvers @ 6.45

Saturday May 17
These New Puritans @ 9.45
Santogold @ 8.45
Times New Viking @ 7.45
Telepathe @ 6.45

Other highlights look set to include Uncut's first night with No Age and Wild Beasts, London busybodies No Pain in Pop are putting on AIDS Wolf, Telepathe, Gentle Friendly and Rolo Tomassi, while Stolen Recordings take Mathew Sawyer and Let's Wrestle down to the end of the pier. Our full guide is here.

Further ahead, we're excited to present a fine selection of bands to you at this year's Summer Sundae - F*ck Buttons, Howling Bells, Noah and the Whale, Youthmovies and The Mae-Shi doing us the honour.

Prizes? Go see the aforementioned Telepathe this Saturday at Push, perhaps for free, definitely cheap at least. Do that here and be in with the chance of winning a year's free entry to Push, if that's the kind of den you're happy to frequent.
