Aerosmith's Steven Tyler admits painkiller addiction
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver July 1st, 2008

Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler - pictured - has admitted that his recent stint in rehab wasn't much to do with a sore foot, but actually to do with an addiction to painkillers.

The singer had pulled the wool over reporters, releasing a statement to the tune of him needing a safe environment whil his foot healed. Lies. Sort of: apparently this addiction to painkillers (and sleeping pills) came about because of his bad foot. Says the singer:

"To have your feet done, to have your leg done, you have to be on narcotics. You have to be on sleep aids at night... I was off and running and I didn't like the me that was me. This was a month ago, so I just put the brakes on and checked into detox and just pulled the plug on all of it."

Tyler kicked the hard drugs some 20 years ago, as all good old rockers should. About the time this came out, then.
