In full streaming video and audio the band will present a webcast as they prepare for their upcoming summer tour. The concert, titled "Rehearsin' for Ya" will take place at 4pm EST, that's 9pm UK time, via their official website on June the 9th.
The new Sonic Youth album, 'Murray Street', is now complete and ready to rock. The United States release date has been moved one week closer, and is now out on June 25 with the vinyl edition (gatefold cover) being prepared by the SYR/My-So-Called-Records to be in stores at the same time.
Murray Street is Sonic Youth’s 16th album since they came together in 1981, named after the location of the studio where recording began last August. Following the events of September 11 the area where their instruments and master tapes was cordoned off and the band laid low for a while. Sessions began again as soon as it was legally possible. Everything was dusty, but otherwise okay, the studio & instruments were fine too.
