Watch Thomas Truax, Alessi's Ark and Left With Pictures on a boat this summer
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater June 3rd, 2009

Ever since Handel's Water Music, the relationship between H20 and the musical form has been inseparable. Stick Aim's Cold Water Music on that list too. The tradition is all set to be continued with in the good ol' fashioned way of gigs on boats this summer.

The Moonshine Jamboree - formerly known for gigs on dry land - have launched a series of shows on The Tamesis, formerly a Dutch barge made in 1933. Ahoy hoy!

The ship - does it count as a ship? Probably not big enough really - is located on the Albert Embankment between Vauxhall and Lambeth Bridges, just a five-minute leisurely stroll or so from Vauxhall tube.

Here are the gigs they have lined up on The Tamesis:

July 1:
Thomas Truax with support from Boycott Coca Cola Experience & Thee Intolerable Kidd

July 14:
Alessi's Ark and Left With Pictures and Tristram

July 15:
Jesca Hoop My First Tooth and Birdengine

August 13:
Mary Hampton with support from Lofty Heights and Lewis Garland and the Kett Rebellion

Septemeber 15:
The Lost Brothers with support from Motel Motel and This Frontier Needs Heroes

October 2:
Keith James plays the Songs of Nick Drake

Tickets to all the shows can be purchased here, more info on the Moonshine Jamboree MySpace.
