The Reverend Jon McClure leaks anti BNP track
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater June 9th, 2009

Jon McClure of Reverend And The Makers fame has leaked an anti British National Party tune from their new album through the ever-popular medium of Twitter.

The track, entitled 'Manifesto/People Shapers', is taken from the upcoming A French Kiss In The Chaos. It's available from YouSendIt here, just two simple clicks away.

The BNP won two seats in the European Parliamentary elections, one in Yorkshire and one in the North Western region. McClure is famously a man of Sheffield and a man of Yorkshire.

Before posting the link to the five-and-a-half minute song late last night he wrote/posted/tweeted/twot:

next tweet is a song i wrote when the bnp threatend [sic] me last year and started givin my mum dodgy phone calls and stuff. x

Before saying:

sorry wall of sound but it had to be done. these nazi's [sic] dont represent yorkshire and the time to hear this is now not in a month x

Then, finally with the link to the song, a simple:

FUCK THE BNP

So, as well as fighting extremism, it gives you a chance to listen to new Reverend And The Makers material.

DiScuss: Is this kind of thing productive, or does nobody listen to musicians anyway? Cringeworthy or combating extremism in a productive way? Will it make a difference to the apathetic? Politics aside, what do you, like, y'know... think of the track?
