Efterklang confirm spate of UK tour dates for April
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater December 15th, 2009

Quite brilliant Danish collective Efterklang have just announced a beautiful bunch of tour dates - including a run of six shows in the UK and Ireland - for next year. Good news for people who like epic, fairly-tale soundscapes, for certain.

Here's where they'll be playing:

April:
20 - Brighton, Concorde 2
21 - London, Shepherd's Bush Empire
22 - Oxford, O2 Academy
23 - Edinburgh, Cabaret Voltaire
24 - Belfast, Black Box
25 - Dublin, Whelan's
27 - Bristol, Metropolis

A fair spread of decent venues. They're also playing the US, some of Scandinavia and other European countries on the tour. Click here for the full run-down of dates and details.

The band recently signed to 4AD and also announced details of their next LP, which will be released on that very label, which will be called Magic Chairs and will be released on February 22.

Click below to listen or download an mp3 from that album. It's a bit 'different' to what you're used to hearing from the band, so brace yourself.

Of Magic Chairs, the band says:

"We are very proud of this record and feel that it introduces a new Efterklang sound. The songs draw inspiration from pop song structures, created and recorded with a live approach and we wanted to display every sound source clearly so that the listener can hear every ingredient of the music."
