Okkervil River announce album release date, London show, free download
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater March 9th, 2011

The Will Sheff-led indie-rock troupe Okkervil River have confirmed the UK release date of their new record as May 9, through Jagjaguwar. The record is called I Am Very Far, contrary to my first glance when I thought it was titled I Am Very Fat. Arguably a better title, in my opinion.

Tracklisting and artwork is as follows.

  1. The Valley
  2. Piratess
  3. Rider
  4. Lay Of The Survivor
  5. White Shadow Waltz
  6. We Need A Myth
  7. Hanging From A Hit
  8. Show Yourself
  9. Your Past Life Is A Blast
  10. Wake And Be Fine
  11. The Rise

In addition to that the band have also announced an extra show in London, which'll take place on May 16 at Heaven. Tickets for that can be found here. Wait, there's more OR-related goodness, too. They're giving away 'Wake And Be Fine' as a free download over on their official website. You know what to do, don't you?
