Album Stream: 65daysofstatic's sensational sixth album Wild Light

DiS regulars will know of our love for Sheffield's mathy proggy post-rock electro-wizards 65daysofstatic. We've written at length about their wonderful brain-fryin' adventures through the digital keyhole and their many conquests of the machines. With their sixth album - Wild Light - out today, we're kicking off a week of editorial dedicated to the band with an album stream. If you like what you hear, you can pick up your physical copy via this link or download it digitally with this link.

You can also look forward to a 65daysofstatic mixtape, a track-by-track guide to the album, and an in-depth interview exploring the band's disography.

"Wild Light begins with a warning. In many respects, the album feels as geared for cinematic accompaniment as anything 65daysofstatic have ever created, Silent Running included. ‘Heat Death Infinity Splitter’ could only exist as introduction to a dystopia, its brooding synths and mechanical clanks calling to mind the grim daily routine of the workers in Fritz Lang’s Metropolis. The gradual progression is indicative of Wild Light’s narrative as a whole..."
