The Divine Comedy are back, no joke!
oappleby by Ollie Appleby September 6th, 2002
The Divine Comedy will be touring the UK and Ireland this autumn, their first full tour since last year's line up changes, with very special guest Ben Folds.

Neil Hannon supported Ben Folds in the US earlier this year after the two first met in 1999 at a Ben Folds Five show and had been trying to find an opportunity to work together ever since.

The shows will see full sets from both artists, with Neil Hannon taking the opportunity to try out new, as yet unrecorded material slated for next year's Divine Comedy album for Parlophone Records.

Ben Folds will have a new album out on October 7th entitled 'Ben Folds Live' (get it?) which was recorded during the US dates of his current world-wide solo piano tour of which his shows with Neil represent the UK leg.

Tickets are now on sale, and the (few) dates are as follows:

September

26th - DUBLIN Ambassador Theatre 35/37 Euros
27th - DUBLIN Ambassador Theatre (New Date) 35/37 Euros
29th - BRISTOL Academy £14
30th - BIRMINGHAM Academy £14

October 1st - GLASGOW Barrowlands £15
3rd - MANCHESTER Academy £14
4th - LONDON Shepherds Bush Empire (SOLD OUT)
5th - LONDON Shepherds Bush Empire (New Date) £17.50

In other news, DrownedinSound will be undertaking a full and probing interview shortly with the Irish man of music himself, if you have any burning questions don't fail to get in touch with us.
