The supermarket chain intends to sell downloads via its website for a mere 88 cents a track. That's significantly cheaper than the service offered by Apple's iTunes. walmart.com's Kevin Swint said: "With 64% of our customers online, we see downloads as a natural extention of the music offered in stores."
Asda has said that they currently have no plans to launch a music download service for UK customers. Watch this space though, as surely it's just a matter of time.
