Alice Cooper is back, not that he ever left that is. What I’m trying to say is here is the original Mr. Nice Guy’s new album and umm… the only words that spring to mind are ‘fuck’ and ‘yeah’!

Much in the same vein as last years Brutal Planet, Dragontown is a concept album portraying the evil that goes on in our wonderful world. Musically it’s not as hard edged as ‘Planet which is a shame as the best tracks on this long player are indeed the harder ones, both lyrically and instrumentally but taken as it comes this album will get anybody pounding their fists in the air… old-skool, nu-skool come one, come all!

There is something on this album for everybody; from the thrash qualities of ‘Triggerman’ to the haunting ballad of ‘Every Woman Has A Name’. Alice touches on a shed load of our social problems, even the current terrorist problems make an appearance in the track ‘I Am The Sentinel’ which comes from the view of a terrorist.

As mentioned above it may not be as good as ‘Brutal Planet’ as a whole but there are enough gems contained within to make it a worthy addition to your ‘must buy’ list.

This is Alice going back to his earlier offerings with a sprinkling of new styles, proving that an old dog can learn new tricks.
