The Byrds. They were good weren't they? All that jangly guitar and radio-friendly melodies?? The Cosmic Rough Riders clearly liked them. Cos as far as I'm concerned, they've started releasing their old songs.

"The Pain Inside", of course isn't ACTUALLY a Byrds cover version, that was just a wonderful bit of journalistic insight there. They sound like The Byrds, I thought!! How cool would it be to mention them in a heavily sarcastic way during the review?? Extremely cool, as you can see.

"The Pain Inside" glides along like an extremely well made paper aeroplane, it jangles, it chimes, it gets fucking boring after about 5 listens. It's the Cosmic Rough Riders.

This, Drowned In Sound Readers, is the band which Poptones, and therefore that little ginger cunt Alan McGee, (Mishka!!!Do You Rememer Fucking Mishka!!!!!!), rests upon. The band with the most commercial appeal, and with the best chance of going big since those monobrowed Mancunian brothers. That's gotta say something about this label. Maybe something like "Tribute Band!! Tribute Band!!!"
