Jamiroquai

Love Foolosophy

Label: Sony Release Date: 25/02/2002

emellett by Ed***d Mellett February 20th, 2002

*Rule #1 of the PR company: *If no stand out tracks are available when choosing the third single release from a number one album of a very famous band, maintain composure, breathe in, cover the CD casing in something shiny and hope it’ll attract kids like magpies.

'Love Foolosophy' by Jamiroquai comes encased in a glistening gold box, promising such good things until you eventually unwrap the single and press “play”. The past greatness of 'Cosmic Girl', Travelling Without Moving' and 'Supersonic' seem like a distant echo of the past as Jay Kay sings well, but deep amidst the darkened chasms of land bland. No doubt this will sell well though, maybe even get to number one (if that still means anything nowadays?) because Jamiroquai have reached that elevated level of success, where their name is equated with what is “good chart music”.

Riding on the back of past success then, Jamiroquai will venture forward and very shortly, fade into the oblivion of pop gone past.
