Yeah, so the EP was released a little while ago but I didn't recieve it until recently as I hadn't even heard of Melaton before I saw them supporting Seafood.

This, the band's debut commercial EP (the previous being a limited edition website release), just emphasises what I saw live from this Dublin based five-some. Opening track 'Falling Star' showcases Luke Slott's song writing ability and vocal talent. The obvious comparison for this band is Coldplay but on the night they played they were also comapred to Travis. Why the hell do I like them then, seeing as I can barely stand the aforementioned bands? That's simple - these guys tug emotively at the heart strings with a celtic injection and considering they're still in their teens, they are as tight as the proverbial ducks rectal passage!

'Peripherique' was my fave song when I saw them live and it is just as good on record. The soaring vocals and creschendo-to-acoustic style is a breath of fresh air.

'Daylight' lets the side down a bit being little more then melancholic indie fodder but 'Two Legs' makes up for it as the closing track returns the band to form.

In general, in today's indie infested chart scum, this band should float to the surface and, given their live performance, remain there for a time to come.
