If you blinked last month, the chances are you will have missed the triumphant return of Supergrass. Such as it was.

The limited-edition, seven inch-only ‘Never Done Nothing Like That Before’ lasted just 90 seconds and barely registered with anybody, but it was an unpolished gem that suggested the band had banished the proggy leanings that weighed down much of their third LP.

‘Grace’ is nowhere near as raucous, but is every bit as infectious. The ridiculously short verses are mere signposts to the bit that really sticks in the consciousness, the chorus of “Save your money for the children”. This is by no means the first time that Supergrass have written a great pop melody that is superbly arranged and impossible to resist. These things take skill.

Is ‘Grace’ amazing? Well, either you enjoy it, accept what Supergrass do, and let them carry on doing it, or you go indoors, draw the curtains, and listen to JJ72 screaming about how it won’t snow like they said it would. Aren't some people just unbelievable?
