Basement Jaxx

Oh My Gosh

Label: XL Recordings Release Date: 14/03/2005

julian by Julian Ridgway March 14th, 2005

Well it’s business as usual for Basement Jaxx. Driving, farty bass loop, clunky drum machine and a chorus that nags at you like a blister from a new pair of shoes.

They’ve proved themselves masters of the dumb pop single in the past – records that make you smile even if they don’t make you think. But with 'Oh My Gosh' the smile’s started to freeze over, like the one you get when people make you look through their holiday photos.

Okay, that might be a bit unfair - the airhead lyrics are quite funny - but this is pretty average stuff for them.
