I dunno. This just wasn’t really working for me in the past. He’s always just been THERE, y’know, burning under the radar, making, to these ears at least, fairly mediocre country-tinged tunes, but his last single was great and this one is another highly pleasant affair. Rejoice!

Josh Rouse is “just a downtown fool” who wants to “take you out on the town, maybe some place nice”. Surprisingly, he’s now FIVE albums in. Worth it in the end, eh? “We can go to your room, I can try on your clothes.” No you won’t, you filthy devil.

A smoothly satisfying, weary (in a good way) country tune. Pedal steel guitars aplenty for lazy Sunday afternoons. Loved by Radio 2 but don’t let that put you off.
