Mancunian duo The Whip - one half of sadly defunct agit-dance rockers Nylon Pylon - sound like they've spent their entire lives hanging around the dilapidated recesses of Whitworth Street, M1 5LH.

If New Order had returned from their recent hiatus with something as direct and daring as 'Frustration' people would be hailing them as midlife geniuses. As they didn't, its therefore left to the likes of The Whip to carry the baton out from behind the mixing desk and onto the dancefloors of every self respecting club in the land.

With industrial beats as hard edged as these, only the most obnoxious, po-faced harridan of the "real music should use real instruments" variety could fail to be moved by such exquisitely structured rhythms.

And the Performance remix on the flipside is ace too, combining the heady rush of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's 'Two Tribes' with the sublime ingenuity of the title track.
