The Pipettes

Your Kisses Are Wasted On Me

Label: Memphis Industries Release Date: 27/03/2006

Ross by Ross Bennett April 1st, 2006

"Boy! Get out of my face!".

Look. I told you. I’ll 'get out of your face' when I’ve had another listen to this song. Yes, the single. That’s right; the one with the pushy, chanting verse and hand-clapping drums. You know - it’s got the reverb-heavy chorus that gleams with melodic brilliance and attempts to go all Phil Spector on us, but unfortunately just falls short of the mark. What’s that? Yes, of course it’s not the best song The Pipettes have to offer and yes, we know, you’re not simple pastiche and parody. We actually think you and The Cassettes are producing some of the best pop out there. It’s just that 'Your Kisses…' is a little under cooked.

"Boy! Get out…" Alright, alright! That’s enough. I’m going. Jeez... some people.
