DAS WANDERLUST are a little band from a little blip of the north-east of England where pastoral beauty sits alongside grotty chemical works. They play 100mph Fisher Price Pop filled with noisy guitars, bleepy keyboards, fuzz bass, bang/crash drums and shouty girl vocals.

Their limited edition 1st EP, despite never being properly released, won them fans in Phill Jupitus & Marc Riley (6music), Rob Da Bank (Radio 1), John Kennedy (XFM), Everett True (Plan B magazine), and most notably Radio 1’s Huw Stephens – who featured them in the ‘Radar’ column in the NME, invited them to record a session at the legendary Maida Vale studios, and booked them to play at Latitude Festival in July 2006. "Their high-speed, shouty girl-punk is a mixture of the better bits of early Placebo and pre-school riot-girlers ripping up the musical section of the nursery." [Drowned In Sound]

The RETRO SPANKEES are making a name for themselves with their blend of eccentricity and melodic alternative pop music. Live they are accompanied by Old Mac Monkey, The White Sock Monkey, various duck-based cuddly toys, an ironing board and a cardboard tractor. Their debut album 'I Know You Are But What Am I?' is out now via Kooky Records.

1984 bring us the news that if there is hope... it lies in the proles. With a name like that, you might expect some sort of dystopian terror. In fact, 1984 are songsmiths of distinction -- vocal harmonies and some interesting changes of tempo raise them far above the standard indie fare. "Sounding like various mid-to-late Nineties 'classics' like Symposium and Midget." [Drowned In Sound]

AMY BLUE are three fuzzy britpopsters based in London, combining Suede-like melodies with the ferocity of Trail of Dead backed by bleeps and squeaks of 8-bit laptop nonsense. In other words, they're pumpkin spoofing NuGaze laptop rockers.
