FUZZTIVAL - The All Day Fuzz Club - 25/10/08

ega03sj [Edit] [Delete] 15:26, 17 October '08

FUZZTIVAL – THE ALL DAY FUZZ CLUB!!
25th October, 2pm – 2am, Sheffield University Student’s Union
Tickets - £10 advance from SUSU Box Office, Jacks and Coffee Rev, Eccy Road

Fuzztival take everything great about the Fuzz Club – live bands, joyous dancefloor activity, affordable drinking – and expands it over 12 hours. With 9 live performances plus the addition of Sheffield’s finest electro-party architects, Club Pony, Fuzztival truly is the complete indie disco experience, and then some. All hosted by Fuzz friend and DJ legend, Steve Lamacq.

In the Foundry (Main Room)

Metronomy
Party catalysts and uber-popular producers, Metronomy are electro cowboys, corralling all kinds of warring genres into rousing, dancefloor destined hits.

Collapsing Cities
Anglo-Antipodeans that make slightly skewed stoner-rock mixed with classically angular and stupidly catchy guitar-pop.

Filthy Dukes
London electro DJ giants Filthy Dukes are impossibly cool, and to prove this they will not only drop a stinging DJ set but also play a live set that makes Prince about as funky as a bus stop.

frYars
This one-man orchestra of electronoic, sample heavy pop gems is something of a prodigy on the stage and off it. Songs too catchy for mere mortals.

Animal Kingdom
Majestic guitar orchestrations that make up soaring, beautifully crafted songs, evoking a dreamy, idyllic scene.

Nat Johnson
Local lass and ex of Monkey Swallows The Universe, Nat is a talented songwriter and not afraid to experiment with the solo dynamic. A beguiling performer.

PLUS
DJ Steve Lamacq brings the quintessential indie-pop disco back to Fuzz to round off a rather mental day of fun and frolics.

And Fuzz Club resident DJ, Cherry Red, bringing her own standard of thick rouge and uber-cool 7’s.

In the Fusion…
From 2pm – 7pm

Cool As Folk Presents...

James Yuill
Like a one man Hot Chip, James is a veritable pop machine, churning out the delicate ditties of a folk singer on his guitar and his fine array of electronic equipment.

MJ Hibbett
Fuzztival pretty much wouldn’t exist without the presence of this man, nee legend. With yet more stories to tell in his inimitable, folk-troubadour style, MJ rocks 4evs!

PLUS
DJ sets from local DJs and promoters, Death By Shoes and Children For Breakfast
From 7pm – 10pm

Offbeat DJs featuring the Offbeat Music Quiz – a chance to test that encyclopdic knowledge of music whilst listening to some classic indie hits.

10pm-2am

CLUB PONY take over Fuzztival in the Fusion, brining the insane-ity of their now trademark electro/techno/disco party and, with the help of special guests and good friends, FILTHY DUKES, smashing out a storming set of ‘lectro, plus the rising talents of Pony faves, UP AND ATOM
