NOTTINGHAM Chameleon 20th June: Axis Of, Rosvita, Wot Gorilla, Fresh Eyes for the Dead Guy (PUNK ROCK AWESOME)

TheSoundofBastards [Edit] [Delete] 18:47, 19 June '10

AXIS OF.... http://www.myspace.com/axisof

Axis Of are an Alt/Punk band hailing from Portstewart/Belfast. Although they are not long on the Irish music scene they have made quite an impact with their uncompromising sound, chaotic live shows and thoughtful lyrics. Debut single "Brobdingnagian" was released to a terrific reception in a near sold out Auntie Annies, which also lead to a headlining slot at the legendary Belfast4haiti Gig. Axis Of will embark on a 3rd UK tour in June to support their 2nd single "Port Na Spaniagh"

AXIS OF are the politically motivated clenched fist of youth. With intelligence and social insight as the back bone of their driving punk foundations, it's impossible not to be gripped by their skill and passion.

Don't miss them!

ROSVITA (spain) - http://www.myspace.com/rosvita

Rosvita is the trio from Madrid, Spain. Active since 2000, they have two self-released albums to date: "Rosvita" (Seven Sisters 2003) and "may be" (fameliar / Brama! 2006).
In 2009 they were part of the lineup of some major festivals such as the Primavera Sound in Barcelona, La Noche en Blanco in Madrid or the Monkey Week in Puerto de Santa Maria.

They have played openings for bands like Acid Mothers Temple, Cansei de Ser Sexy, Mono, Retribution Gospel Choir, or Devastations Gith also shared the stage with many independent groups Spanish.

WOT GORILLA - http://www.myspace.com/wotgorillaband

"Wot Gorilla? seamlessly mix the unashamed technical flare of Fall of Troy with the accessible math (honestly, not an oxymoron) of Minus the Bear. Considering that this was apparently their first show, their tight performance is very impressive indeed. Ones to watch"

FRESH EYES FOR THE DEAD GUY - http://www.myspace.com/fresheyesforthedeadguy

Wiry post-hardcore, welding distorted Sonic Youth-esque guitars to the velocity of hardcore punk, combined with shouty choruses impaled on hooks.
