THE PAINS OF BEING PURE AT HEART
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are a New York four-piece who play genius noisy pop songs with boy/girl vocals, blissful melodies, fuzz guitar and blistering drums. Despite only having been together for a couple of years The Pains of Being Pure at Heart are one of the buzz American bands of the moment. Tipped as one of five to watch in 2009 by Pitchfork founder Ryan Schreiber on ABC news, their self-titled debut album on Fortuna POP! collected every accolade under the sun and featured prominently in the 2009 “Best Of” lists of Pitchfork, NME and Rough Trade Shops, to name but a few. They wowed the crowds at ATP, SXSW, Primavera, Roskilde and The Isle Of Wight festivals and stormed the UK with some incredible tours, including sold out shows at London’s The Garage and Scala. Thrilling and insouciantly cool, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart might just be the most exciting indiepop band on the planet right now.
"Pure indie-pop to hold close to your heart." - NME

YUCK
Yuck rose from the ashes of short-lived London band Cajun Dance Party, and have come back with a new, lo-fi sound. Bringing to mind bands like Times New Viking, Wavves and Lovvers, Yuck combine catchy boy girl melodies with fuzzy guitars and lo-fi production.
“World-weary strength filtered through the ethereal fuzz of either The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart (for those still encountering puberty) or Sonic Youth (for those more worried about coronary heart disease)” (The Line Of Best Fit)
