OF THE TRUE CLASS
of the True Class are a mancunian four-piece formed in early 2009 by frontman Edward Jones and drummer Tom Statham. After a few changes, the final line-up including Joe Heveran and Dion Wild has proved to be definitive.

Since refining the hard-edged and brattish sound that has been so well-received on the Manchester unsigned music scene, the band has since branched out and have began to to expand their fanbase.

Playing at prestigious venues such as Moho Live (in front of 750+ at the Skins Beach Party) and Night and Day, the band has received an extremely positive response.

The band's debut EP is set to be released soon, with five live favourites having been recorded in Moolah Rouge studios, Stockport.

SKINT & DEMORALISED (SPOKEN WORD)
21-year old Wakefield lad Matt Abbott has been performing spoken word for nearly 4 years. Spontaneous occupation of the microphone in random pubs, clubs and venues around Yorkshire soon led to bookings. His speedy and "charismatically uncouth" style earned him a name at various club-nights across the region and he began to work with a Sheffield-based producer called MiNI dOG. His spoken word poems became songs, demos of which were played by Steve Lamacq on BBC Radio 1, and in March 2008 they signed a record deal with Mercury.

Abbott performed at last year's Leeds Festival with his band Skint & Demoralised to a packed Festival Republic stage after the release of his single 'Red Lipstick'. Whilst the band are writing and recording their independently released second album, Abbott is touring the country with a fresh stand-up set and developing new material as he goes along.

Inspired by Jon McClure of Reverend & the Makers and the legendary 'Bard of Salford' John Cooper Clarke, Abbott's rhyming rants encapsulate life as a young man in Northern England and often add tongue-in-cheek cynicism to everyday situations. This is a rare blend of performance punk poetry and stand-up comedy that's well worth seeing live
