@ ROYAL PARK CELLARS, LEEDS

A PLASTIC ROSE (Belfast)
http://www.myspace.com/aplasticrose
"Noisey, emotive and with its heart beating and bleeding all over its sleeve - it's a collection of songs that while lacking dead-eyed cool, have no trouble convincing of their sincerity"
Colin Carberry - Hotpress

WHAT THE BLOOD REVEALED (Glasgow)
http://www.myspace.com/wtbr
At their best, post-melodic rockers What the Blood Revealed utilise the sharp and static tensions of Pelican with mesmerising results. Opener 'Politics, Here Is Death is a slow burning but ultimately textured track built around a softer swaying Russian Circles, while 'A Million Explosions Live Inside Everyone' carries the mantle for choking guitar lines and precisely calibrated sounds. Primarily focused on intensely wrought musicianship- with a few uplifting turns thrown in to lighten the load- and with plans for a full length later this year, WTBR are exciting prospects. 8 out of 10, Rocksound, Feb 2010

WE SAY NO (Leeds)
http://www.myspace.com/wesaynomusic
This 3 piece noise machine has recently fully relocated to Leeds after leaving the sunny shores of Blackpool, and they are determined to win the hearts of the West Yorkshire crowds. Their sound is a fusion of soaring 3-part harmonies met with walls of distortion. This is all intricately balanced with an emphasis on creating catchy choruses and epic endings.
Think Oceansize, Reuben, early Biffy

SHAKEY HANDS (Leeds)
http://www.myspace.com/shakeyhanz
Shakey Hands is the solo project from former Switzerland (http://www.myspace.com/switzerlandswitzerland) frontman Callum Proctor, recently relocated to Leeds but no stranger to the Leeds Music scene expect some cap'n Jazz stylee tunes on an acoustic guitar while he beats along on a kick drum.
