What would you get if you crossed Soulwax, Kraftwerk, The Whip and The White Stripes? Well, their lovechild might look something like Rotkäppchen, a magical English/German two-piece who play live electronic music and look like they’ve stepped straight out of a fairy tale.

Annie and Ian combine laptop, synths, vocals and several technical devices with live drums (played by Annie) to create non-stop danceable high-energy electro sets. They play their own songs as well as remixed mash-ups, thus making them a mixture of live band and live DJs.

After gigging non-stop for the past 3 years they are proud to present their first EP ‘DEmontage’ which will be released on Grimm Records on 23 May 2011. It includes the following tracks:

RUonNE – high-energy live electronics

It’s The Sound – minimalist electro

See The Stars – melodic-poppy electronica

A Royal Mez – re-work of Gomez’ ‘Royalty’

+ remixes

Rotkäppchen are based in East London. They’ve played with great acts such as Vitalic, Drums of Death, Ladyhawke to name a few and regularly play international gigs in Germany and France.

Once upon a time, they came a long way through the darkest woods in order to deliver a basket of musical and visual goodies to your (big) ears…

… and they lived happily ever after.
