RICHMOND FONTAINE (live) & David Lynch's BLUE VELVET (London)

LOST IN THE TREES an evening of music and film curated by RICHMOND FONTAINE:

Facebook Event: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=221931721150827

Tickets: £10 / £8 - http://www.jack-roe.co.uk/stdcgi/taposcgi/prilon/book?perfcode=918

To celebrate the release of their new single Lost In the Trees, we’ve invited Portland’s chief exponents of literary rock, Richmond Fontaine to curate a night at The Prince Charles Cinema.

The evening will begin with the world premiere of the video for Lost In The Trees followed by a special acoustic duo performance from the band, previewing songs from their to be released new album The High Country - a gothic love story between a mechanic and an auto parts store counter girl, whose secret love inspires an effort to escape the darkness of the world that surrounds them. Drugs, violence, madness, loneliness, and desperation set against a backdrop of endless logging roads and the remains of a forest brutalized by logging. In this story of light vs. dark, songwriter Willy Vlautin has woven a tale where screw-ups and freaks terrorize the lives of innocents.

Our journey will then continue to surely the most infamous logging town in popular culture - Lumberton – the setting of David Lynch’s cult masterpiece Blue Velvet. Willy will be on hand to introduce this perfect cinematic counterpart to the band’s latest work. There's a whole lotta wood waitin' out there, so let's get goin'.

In addition to his work with Richmond Fontaine, Willy has written three critically lauded novels, The Motel Life, Northline and Lean on Pete. The Motel Life has just been turned into a major motion picture set for release in early 2012 produced and directed by the Polsky Brothers (Bad Lieutenant) and featuring Dakota Fanning, Stephen Dorff, Emile Hersch and Kris Kristofferson
