Deathfix (Dischord, Fugazi)/Enablers/Kogumaza 10/11/13 @Brud Leeds

robellovich [Edit] [Delete] 18:43, 5 November '13

Deathfix (Dischord, (U.S.A/Fugazi) + Enablers (Neurot, San Francisco) + Kogumaza (Gringo Records) - £8.00 Advance.

Available at Jumbo, Crash, Wegottickets and at The Brudenell soon.

Deathfix

Brendan Canty’s collaboration with Rich Morel, henceforth to be referred to as Deathfix, started when the two of them were touring in Bob Mould’s band, and has flowered under the dim lights of Brendan’s toasty warehouse studio. They have been writing songs for two years now. Getting lost in their own devices. More guitars, more everything. Both singing.

Lots of love for 1972. Fully analogue attack on the computer.
With the addition of Devin Ocampo on drums and Mark Cisneros on bass they are now ready to drive, elevating Deathfix beyond the studio project realm and into a live machine. Technology is helpful but it’s not everything!

“Deathfix” out 2/26/13 on Dischord Records.

ENABLERS

Fitting to its name, the San Francisco quartet Enablers writes songs that are equally manipulative and encouraging to our darkest desires. The band made up of journeyman veterans of Swans, Tarnation, Nice Strong Arm and Toiling Midgets merges dramatic and flowing melodic soundscapes — of which SF Gate calls “possibly the world’s best power trio” — with the visceral spoken narratives of underground literary veteran Pete Simonelli. It’s almost as though the band’s fluid and often soothing music exists to distract our better instincts while Simonelli whispers above it all, urging and lulling us into the dark, decrepit world of his words.

KOGUMAZA

Kogumaza played their first shows in 2009. They are based in Nottingham, England. They released a pair of seven inch singles on the Low Point and Lancashire & Somerset labels respectively in 2010. Their debut self-tlted LP is to be released by Low Point on vinyl and download on May 9th 2011. The LP, like the singles before it, was recorded by the band at their own Way-Out Is The Way Out studio.
