SOMEWHAT DAMAGED #2: A new FREE night of LOUD alternative noise from the underground.

Amirkat [Edit] [Delete] 18:36, 3 September '14

After a resounding success at the first event, with a packed out venue with an amazing party atmosphere, we're back for more!

On Saturday the 20th of September some of London's finest up and coming alternative bands take over The Unicorn in Camden for a night that bites, and are joined by some very special guests from up North! Featuring sets from:

Sumer (Onstage 10.15pm - 10.45pm):

Finalists at this year's 'Metal To The Masses London', Sumer bring prog rock kicking and screaming into the 21st century with frankly dazzling aplomb. The band, likening themselves to a heavy Radiohead circa ‘OK Computer’, weave together harmonic dual vocals with prog fluidity a la Karnivool’s ‘Simple Boy’ and criminally heavy riffage a la Meshuggah and Tool with eye popping intensity. This is a band that should be very much on your radar.

Black Sixteen (Onstage 9.30pm - 10.00pm):

Black Sixteen are a dark Grunge band formed by songwriter Amir Khan and drummer Matt Burn, who initially performed around London as a four piece including keyboards before stripping the unit down for a condensed, dynamic and emotionally charged sound that burns on the way down.

A Mouth Full Of Matches (Onstage 8.45pm - 9.15pm):

A Mouth Full Of Matches have wasted no time in making an impact on the UK rock scene. The Manchester based band, featuring twin sisters Jane and Helen Hebenton, vocalist Tom Buxton, guitarist Mark Holden and drummer Steven Hall, share a passion for rock music with an emphasis a solid song writing talent and outstanding musicianship.

Idlehour (Onstage 8pm - 8.30pm):

Born from an indulgence of the unspoken recesses of troubled minds, Idlehour is a dark cocktail of early 90’s grunge, abrasive punk and ice cream truck melodies. Emotionally extravagant and sonically unpredictable, they make three minute pop songs for the psychologically fragile and gracefully morbid.

We're proud to announce that we're welcoming special guest DJ 'The Scot' to the next Somewhat Damaged event! His DJ's sets at both REPTILE and 'The Alternative Bring and Buy Sale', as well as his work with The Queer Alternative are legendary amongst the London alternative scene and we can't wait to hear what he has to offer between and after the bands on the night!
