The Great Field Day Booking Fee Robbery!

Alex-in-Ciderland [Edit] [Delete] 18:13, 15 April '08

Oh, Hai.

I've just ordered my ticket for Field Day and was struck by the range of booking/administration/postage fees.

Now, the face value of the ticket os 26.50 which I happen to think is very reasonable indeed, especially given the recent addition of LSF, etc

However, the fees that online ticketing vendors have added are pretty outrageous, in one case adding around 40% to the ticket price!

Ticketweb seem to offer the best value with fees of 5.09 resulting in a total charge of 31.59.

Seetickets add fees of 8.60 resulting in a total charge of 35.10.

Finally, Ticketline, with LOLtastic fees of 10.20 bring the total charge to 36.70!

How can they possibly justify this?

Wouldn't it be better if the promoters got together and sold their tickets direct through an independent website rather than pander to the greed of the ticket vending industry?

I realsie these companies have to make a profit and I don't mind paying a reasonable charge, but Seetickets and Ticketline in particular are taking the piss!
