Is Glasto worth it?

hjselh [Edit] [Delete] 17:32, 26 September '14

I haven't camped at a festival before, and I haven't been to a festival of the scale of Glastonbury. Is it worth going? A lot of friends of mine can't really be bothered to come with me because they figure it's one of those festivals that have become overrun with the sorts of people who think that festivals are events divorced from the music industry (rather, a product of the experience industry), in which the main aim is to be as debauched as physically possible.

Glasto normally has a varied lineup - a smudge of pop, an unhealthy serving of NME stock "indie", and then some really awesome artists too. Having never been to Glastonbury, what's the ratio of good vs. "not really my thing" artists?

Thanks guys :))))
